Why no printed documentation?

I had 50 Mbps Internet, FIOS TV with all pay channels, and digital phone installed about a month ago. I was given no printed documentation on how to do anything, except for the TV remote controls and a listing (outdated) of TV channels. I spent a full hour on the phone (mostly waiting on hold) finding out how to set up my voicemail. I spent more than an hour on the phone trying to find out whether there was printed documentation available (all of the international representatives I spoke with were kind and polite, but totally unhelpful). The consensus was that there was no printed documentation to be had. One is supposed to visit Verizon's website and do a search for helpful videos that might not exist. When I had Comcast Xfinity installed in Massachusetts two years ago, they gave me a small booklet that answered nearly all of my simple questions. Here in Florida, apparently Verizon gives you nothing. Obviously, Verizon thinks that we all have hours to spend on the phone trying to get simple answers to simple questions. How does that make sense? Billy

Doc existed and some installers were giving it out, at least three years ago, when I got my service for Florida.  You can still find it ouline.

For example see this location for Voicemail manuals

https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/phone/homephone/calling+features/using+calling+features/...

Similarly off the support pages you can find the manuals for your FIOS devices.  I don't think they have any manuals up for the Onts, but various routers, DVR, and STB can be found.

If you had something printed, it probably would be outdated before most people decided to look at it. There is plenty of answers online in the support section, in the inhome agent, on channel 131 and of course this forum. Some of those places do have some docs you can print out or read online and save a tree.
