picture distortion when watching the dvr/Fios connected through a Bose sound system

Everything was fine until we bought a new Samsung tv. Hooked everything up (Bose, Apple TV, Fios DVR  just like it had been before but now, when trying to watch tv through the DVR we have intermittent pixelation and distortion that is so bad it is unwatchable. We can watch the Samsung tv with out issue if we bypass the Bose system.  We can watch the Apple TV through the Bose system without issue but when we hook up the DVR through the Bose to the Samsung we have issues with the distorted picture.  The other TV's in the house  have no problem with the pixelation and distortion . We have rewired, reconnected, turned off and on, reset DVR, replaced DVR, replaced cables, etc, all to no avail. Why all of a sudden would the Bose sound system cause problem with the cable signal?

Have you tried swapping cables between the Fios box and the Apple TV? Could be a bad cable. Also does the Apple TV output 4K or just 1080 HD? You may have to set the Fios box to only output 1080 if the Bose can't reliably handle a 4K signal. The Fios box searches fo the highest resolution a device can accept and sets itself to that output. The Bose may have an issue passing the 4K signal properly. The other fix would be to send all sources directly to the TV, then send the HDMI ARC out from the TV to the Bose. Or send an optical out from the TV to the Bose, taking the Bose out of the video chain.

When you say "distortion" exactly what do you mean? Does the picture size look incorrect, stretched or squished, or is there noise and pixellation? Have you tried using only High-Speed certified cables to hook up the box? I assume you have an HDMI cable going from the Fios box to the Bose unit, then from the Bose to the TV correct? Have you tried using a different input on the Samsung TV?  Is  the input on the Samsung TV set to "Wide Color" or standard? What model of TV is it?

Thanks for the quick reply.  It is a Samsung Frame TV.  The Bose system is from 2013.  The Bose is the only variant that is causing the trouble.  All other hook ups and TV's are fine. It seems the Verizon and the Bose are not  getting along.  All the cables and cords are high end, and the STB has been replaced ( that was Verizon's solution).  It didn't help.

The picture and sound become super glitchy with black outs, whiteouts, overlays, split screens, pixelation, and it is not all the time.  It will resolve and be fine for days and then off it goes again.  Often,  just the  switch  to the Apple TV  to watch something (which works fine through the Bose ) and then a return to cable will set it off.  I've attached some images

Thanks for the info. We'll give that a try.  We thought perhaps the Bose system was too old for all the new tech.
