programming the remote for Insignia TV

The power and volume don't work on the Verizon remote (model VZ265 v2 RC) with code 180, which is provided by Verizon or 0198 or 0490 which are provided by Insignia. This is a new issue since the Original Verizon remote did work for the last year and the replacement I received doesn't .

The Insignia remote DOES work.

Thank you!

The following article may be of some help.  Be sure to read all the posts as the first post on searching contained an error which is corrected later.

I am also having the problem with Insignia TV. I am unable to consistently turn off the tv---it does power down but then flips right back on a few seconds later.  Extremely frustrating. Insignia remote works fine.

I have tried all the corrective action mentioned in this forum to no avail. Extrememly frustrating.

I have elevated the case at Verizon tech support but they are not very eager to help me.  Not sure why they can't grab an Insignia tv or two and test/debug with their remotes in a lab somewhere.

If anyone has further recommendations it would be much appreciated.

Think of how many different models of TVs that might have to test.

Suppose the vendor made a minor change to their software and now the "standard" code doesn't work right.

Should Verizon be responsible for fixing their remote?

Most "universal" remote manufacturers won't guarantee they will cover 100% of all devices.

That's partially why Verizon went from a 4 device remote to 2.

Too many complaints about not supporting all the different types of devices.

Well then it should warn customers- but thatโ€™s ok- I donโ€™t have to pay Verizon hundreds of dollars a month.  I can just cancel.

Did you try this code? Sansui code 0490

You have to remember that Insignia TVs are made by a number of manufacturers and re-branded as Insignia. Nobody knows from year to year what is going to change.
