You need to go into the administrative options in the router, go to the WiFi settings, look for the 5Ghz wireless settings and set the channel to something under 100. Save the settings, reboot the router and you should be good.

also make sure your wifi is enabled on your verizon router, and that the SON (self organizing network) is turned off.

You also need to see what 5ghz channel the router is set to. My Roku stick wont connect to anything in the ch100 and up range. Set the 5ghz channel to fixed , picked a channel in the 80s, connects fine now.
