Up until around a month ago, closed captions worked. Pushing the remote button still displays the "Closed captions on" and "Closed captions off" messages at the top of the screen, but captions do not appear, even on movies listed as having them.

What model STB do you have?
Does it not work on any channel?
Have you tried rebooting STB?
Or enabling it via settings menu?

It's a verizon STB.
I didn't even know there were menu settings for CC. When I looked, it was set to CC3. Various posts seemed to suggest that CC6 might work better, so I have tried that. and it now works on at least the Turner Classic Movies channel. I don't know why it stopped working a month ago, but it's possible we changed the setting accidentally.

Glad to hear it is working.
I think cc1 works best. But scroll through them all to see what works best for you.
