That depends on the access point steering compliance of the Fios One Minis. If you have Self-Organizing Network enabled at the router, the access point steering mechanism is enabled. When a client receives a low RSS on one AP, it could migrate to another AP with a stronger RSS.

I think what he is trying to say is if your router is setup with one name for both your 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels the minis should work with the extender. You may have to give the extender the same name too. If you have separate names for the two channels, you may have issues.
