Hello. I have an SLS-BU103 network extender which has stopped working.
The error message is "Device Not Activated - Call Verizon Support"
I already tried a soft reset (multiple times, and the factory reset button as well.
Any assistance will be appreciated!

Hello, jtmchenry, thank you for reaching out with regard to your Network Extender. Are you still running into an issue with seeing an error on the display? Have you been able to attempt to reset your device?

I called Verizon support. Someone named Joden told me my extender is no longer supported. He said he would send me a new one. That never happened.
Another one hour plus call to Noel, at Verizon support, ended with Noel telling me he was sending me another extender. What an amazing experience with a reputable company?
Bottom line I have no working extender.
Thank you Verizon

Maybe the FCC or FTC might be able to help. It appears this problem is beyond the capabilities of Verizon.

Exact same thing happened with my Samsung 4G LTE gen 1 unit a few weeks ago. Support rep said that device was End of Life so I purchased the Network Extender 2. Same issue with the new unit...it's hanging at step 9 on Verizon gateway authentication. It appears the MAC ID authentication tables got corrupted and these poor support reps have no clue how to fix it.

Tech reps are useless. I bought a new network extender. It took 4 hour long phone calls and 5 days to be able to order a new one. I am developing serious doubts about Verizon.

It seems coincidental that multiple MAC IDs for the unsupported SLS-BU103 all lost Verizon gateway access on 7/5 and the fix is to get a newer version. I'm not hating though, Verizon does have to maintain the firmware (and associated security patches) and it gets harder on old equipment. If 8t was intentional, I'd prefer an email giving me a heads up. For the gen2, Level 1 support rep was useless but Level 2 was able to get the Network Extender 2 added in less than 10 minutes. Good luck.

An aggressive company would have notified all their users on 7/1/2023.
They could have immediately sold a ton of new extenders. Just an example of poor management at multiple levels of Verizon.

Hello, unixgeek13, thank you for reaching out. Are you still running into an issue with your Network Extender? If so, do you recall any changes shortly before an error popped up? Are you still seeing the same "Device Not Activated" error?

Hey there, SaltyChris, we know it's important to get yoru Network Extender back up and working! Did anything happen just before this error showed on your devices? Have you had the opportunity to reboot or reset your extenders?
