I redeemed the card online, but have not used the $100 balance. After a few weeks of having new FIOS service, I realized "wait a minute!", then checked an old email from Verizon. Yes, that email, which outlined what I ordered for new service, states a TWO HUNDRED dollar visa gift card is offered.
Yes, this is sort of free money, but then is someone behind the scenes pocketing that extra $100? Thing is, this is a selling point of acquiring service from Verizon (from its competitor, with whom I had service for decades!).
I have now been on hold (telephone) a few minutes shy of two hours, listening to that awful music.
