I am almost at the end of my contract. I have been with Verizon for many years, but I’d like to search for best deal. What should I do?

Go to renewal and see what they have to offer.
Threatening to drop MAY offer better retention benefits but no guarantees

The problem is if you tell verizon you may leave they are known not to budge. So unless you have a alternative provider like cable they may say ok and let you leave.
now if you want to have another family member or friend get service at your address they will get new customer pricing. They must pass a credit check.
you could switch for 30 days and then get new customer pricing. But that is a hassle. Never ever go into a contract with verizon. You must be careful in that even a information call as to services have resulted in them putting you into a contract.
my wife and I have our home connected for both cable and fios. So I just say turn it off on so and so date and they know I am not kidding. I am not in any contracts. Never have never will.
