I have noticed over the past few days on the Verizon Website, that prices for the package is cheaper than my current pricing. Granted I don't need the 300 Visa card or any the new client perks. I want to know how I can get that extra $$ knocked off my bill. Since I just renewed in Nov, it just doesn't seem right.
Currently my package is 129.99 for
Extreme HD
Internet 75/35
Digital Voice
On the VzB Page the last few days for 114.99

I know it's a small amount, but with the equipment rentals and service changes, it all helps.

You need to contact Verizon and ask for the Retention Dept.

That's just the way it is these days. There's a reason they call it "new customer" offers. If they didn't have new customer pricing then I guarantee prices for everyone would be even higher then they are. It's those new customer sign up's (not just local competitors) that help keep prices competitive and I don't care if anyone else disagrees with that.
I know where I grew up Comcast was and still is the only cable company is town (not including Directv and Dish) and their rates are standard. No new customer pricing at all. You either pay it or don't, but their prices are insane.
If you want the same deals that new customers get the only thing to do is switch providers for so many months then switch back or just stop service and wait 6 months. You will then be considered a new customer.
I will tell you what happened to me, but I can't say if it will happen to you.
I had fios for over 4 years. Prices of course went up every 2 years. I also upgraded a few times which made it even higher. The cost finally got to high for me so I stopped service. I figured I'd just wait 6 months and order it again. While waiting I was using my cell phone and an hdmi adapter. I would watch tv with a lot of apps since I refuse to have Brighthouse in my house and dont want directv, dish, etc. since I've had them all before at one point.
Not even 4 months after cancelling fios I received a letter in the mail saying they were sorry to see me go and offered me to come back at a rate that was actually lower then what new customers get for 2 years. I took it.
Why they do things the way they do doesnt make sense to many, but it's all about business and is what it is.

I have a similar problem. The current contract has two expiration dates Jun (when I placed the order) and Aug (when Verizon fixed the billing error). Now the contract price will be about 30 more per month. I asked about the offer for new members and got several different answers on what a new member means to Verizon (from 30 days to 6 months). I am interested in a lower monthly fee and not necessarily on getting the $300 gift card. After several calls, I was convinced that renewing the contract (at the new price) was the best option. However, I can cancel the service with Verizon and sign a contract with Comcast. After 30 days, I can cancel Comcast (they have a 30 days customer satisfaction) and go back to Verizon. This is an inconvenience to me and a costly move for Verizon (not to mention Comcast) since they it involves cancellation (Verizon), free activation (Comcast), cancellation (Comcast) and free activation (Verizon). This is not a problem for me because my internet use will be significantly low during the summer. I also believe that Verizon could give us the option to keep the service at the current price without the 300 gift card instead of having to go through the process of cancelling services and installing the same service at the same residence.
I will call tomorrow morning to cancel the service to make sure I don’t get stuck with a two year contract that I don’t want.
I have used this forum before and received a very good resolution to my billing issue mentioned earlier and I hope this will have a good resolution.
