does anyone know who to contact for a fraudulent unreturned equipment charge that was turned over to a collection agency immediately???? I was preapproved for a mortgage and given the opportunity to receive quite a large of down payment assistance, but two new collections popped up saying that I never returned my equipment (which I most CERTAINLY) did and was contacted by Verizon--years ago--before they sent it over to a collection agency. I was told it was taken care of, never saw it on my credit report after that until 2 new collections popped up. These dropped my credit score tremendously, and are now preventing me from securing this mortgage! I have disputed it multiple times, called many times--to no avail. This gross error is going to cost me and my young children our first home, and the ability to afford it! Is anyone able to give me any advice???? It would be greatly appreciated, as time is running out..................
