WHAT ARE THE 2 USB SLOTS FOR ON THE NEW ROUTER?  I CAN NOT GET THEM TO WORK

As what?  Not sure which NEW router you are referring to, but at least for the Actiontec's they have never been enabled for anything but power.  Haven't heard about the Greenwave router

They are there in case they ever want to use/enable them for anything in the future.
