We are going to be building a house on land that has a 100 year old land easement from some phone company long ago. The line is now Verizon's. The original 1930 easement states that no structure may be within 50 feet of the line. We need to build closer than that (but not super close). I have talked to multiple Verizon customer service reps who tell me that Verizon does not have that stipulation on their easements/lines, but when I ask for something in writing stating that Verizon does not require that we be 50 from the phone line I get transferred all around and get no where! We just want to get started on our house!!
