If you call the number on the back of the card [(888)-397-0765], you can hear your card balance. The automated voice will offer you the web address: DO NOT HANG UP TO VISIT THE WEB ADDRESS. IT IS NOT HELPFUL. After offering the web address, the automated voice will prompt you to enter your card # and card tracking #. If you follow the prompts, you will learn your account balance. Unfortunately, I was not able to discover why the account was used up; when I inquired about purchases, it said I had made none in the last 90 days, but my account balance was $3. C'est la vie; the card was free.
