My brother who lives on Long island has FiOS also . He has the ultra package plus 100 mg internet and 4 boxes and pays about 165.00 a month. Meanwhile I live in Massachusetts and have the prime package 50 mg internet and 2 boxes and pay 230.00 a month!!! WTH. Am thinking of dropping FiOS if I don't get a better deal. Any input?

Plus is he maybe under contract and you aren't?
It's not nycity it is Long island big difference not much comp except for o cable. Did compare and he was offered a better package cheaper if he resigned his contract. I have not been offered that by Verizon. Should probably call
Having previously lived on LI I can assure that yes they have different special deals than most of the country. A bunch of things are included for free with some packages. And some packages are cheaper then the rest of the country.
You should go online and check the offers for new Fios customers. However, watch out for some equipment rental that can add up. Call differrent customers representative and you can get different pricing. It is odd but you are paying $230 you should definitely check for better pricing.
