There is buried undergroound cable in my premises that belongs to Verizon and there is no easement on record. I called DigSafe (as I reside in Massachusetts) beofre I start digging to build a retaining wall on my premises. The underground cable may have existed for decades (according to DigSafe) since my town do not have Fios Service as yet.
I need this cable removed ASAP as I am incurring cost because I had to stop work on the retaining wall that I am building. Which deoartment is in charge of this sort of thing and what number do I call? Please advise. Time is of essence here. I need the old cable moved?
