FIOS was installed in our neighborhood a year ago and we are ready to make the switch to one bill already having several cell and ipad accounts. Web based database states FIOS isn't available for my address, however when the install was being done the rep in our neighborhood said it would be brought to our house from next door or across the street when we wanted the install. Called customer service on several occasions to no avail. One promised a supervisor would call back and didn't and the other said that it was not possible that the database was in error. I'd like to make the switch and give VZ my money. Finding its rather difficult to make that happen.

I am having the exact same issue. I am moving into a new house in the next few days and the Fios website says that only dsl is available for my address. When I check the addresses on both sides of my house it shows fios is available. I have also checked several other address on both sides of my street and it is available at all of those houses.
I tried online chat and was told to call 1800-Verizon.
When I called, a rep told me he would pass the request on to the engineering department and I should call back in 1 to 2 weeks to see what was avaialble. When I told him I work from home and couldn't wait that long just to find out if it was available, he offered me dsl service (which is not fast enough for me) or suggested that I look for a different service provider.
Is there any way I can get an answer to availbility in less than 2 weeks?

You may want to reconsider the Verizon DSL. I had it for about 2 years and it served its purpose just fine for me. I don't know the details of your circumstances and what your needs are but I found its Internet speed still fast enough for my purposes and you get these "extensions" that enable you to access the Internet via your phone lines but to also still make and receive phone calls from your land line at the same time, as opposed to dialup. It's really not that bad.

Not sure if you were able to get service yet, but if you are moving into a brand new home it may be a matter of timing that the builder inspector and the VZ inspector have not finaled the inspection and your address sent to the engineering group. It you havent been installed check back and see now. You can also check with your builder super and see what the status is too.

Yours is a maatter of an engineering issue with the your apartment number is not inputted in the system correctly. Contact your apartment manager and ask if they have a VZ sales rep that can help you. Usually there is an individual rep assigned to each apratment complex who would be able to get this fixed for you.

My neighbor who's house is 20 feet from mine has had fios for the last 5 years and I keep getting told that it is not available at my address by Technical Support. His house faces a different street since his is a corner lot it abuts to my house. I had Verizon DSL installed a few weeks ago and the Verizon installer said "did you know that you can get Fios at your house? Your next door neighbor has it and I can easily extend it to your house. Just call 1-800-Verizon and they can get me back out to set it up." I have since called about 4 times and each time I have been told "we will check with engineering and call you back" I have not received a call back from any of them and it is extremely frustrating.
Is there anyone what can help me with this??
Thanks!

I live on a {edited for privacy}street ({edited for privacy}, PA), which intersects with a major street ({edited for privacy}Avenue) in our West View area. Our street currently does not have Fios service wired on the utility poles. The street three houses down from ours ({edited for privacy}Ave.) DOES have Fios service wired for those residences on Center Avenue.
I have tried on the Verizon web site numerous times to determine if the service is available - it indicates that it IS NOT and only gives the option to be put on a mailing list to be notified when it DOES become availble...... needless to say, I'm not getting any notification about the Fios availability.
Who can I communicate with within the Verizon systems network to haunt them/convince them to PLEASE wire our street for the Fios service in order to connect to it? Since the wired service is so close to our home and because our street is such a short street (goes between Center Ave and Highland Ave.), it doesn't seem it would be that much effort to wire our street for it - or at least run a line from Center Avenue to our house just four houses up.
What can you tell me on this - would appreciate any help I could get....... I'm so sick of Comcast.....
Thanks in advance for any help.......
~Denny~

This is my similar issue and it is like a smack in the face from Verizon. Makes me wonder why I tried so hard to switch to them. A customer should NOT have to go through such aggressive measures to be a customer.
I live in a house that has been divided into several apartments. My upstairs neighbors have Verizon service; I saw the truck, man and ladder, perched right outside my dining room window. But when I enter in my address online for the exact same building, a difference of Apt. A or B, no service for me. Is it because they just moved in and to keep them as a customer, Verizon had to install something???? Well, heck man, while you're up there, plug me in too!
Tired of Comcast, but I'll keep giving them my money cause I like internet, and they're the one's providing it, not you Verizon. Get your game together.

And I'm not specifically stuck on wanting FIOs. I'll take any internet at this point. But I'm told Verizon offers absolutely NO service whatsoever to my address.
