Email account wont log in: One account stops working suddenly

My primary email account will not take my password on my Samsung Note 2 or Outlook on my desktop PC.
Noticed this morning when my Samsung note popped up a message telling me the password was wrong.
My sub accounts are fine and can get email.
I can log in to MyVERIZON.COM and being paranoid I went ahead and changed my password.
Still cannot login after password change, and whilst trying the verizon webmail page I noticed it doesnt even load. Returns some SQL garbage and not an HTTP error code.
Possible reasons:
The 'broken' email account is the oldest (2009) so I am thinking that perhaps there was a server failure and the backup for that account is on a tape backup and just hasnt been restored yet. Thus the reason my newer sub accounts apear to function normally.
Have the port numbers changed again?
Here is what I curently use.
outgoing.verizon.net |using SMTP = 465
incoming.verizon.net | using POP3= 995
Of course that wouldnt explain why one account stopped working suddenly.

please fix. there is no on-line support for this message
At least some of the Email servers appear to really be down this morning. Some have reported their primary accounts not working but sub accounts working.
But advise you post on a different thread as this one is old.

I'm a subaccount holder and I'm getting my email--no error, but the primary account holder is not. However, my computer is Windows Vista and I have IE9. The primary account holder has Windows XP and IE8. Hope this helps someone fix the problem.

I suspect its some but not all Verizon servers. For example I have two seperate Verizon accounts and the one in NY works and the one in FL does not.
Its not WINDOWS or IE version related. I don't normally use WEBMAIL (but did to check if that was a way around the problem. It isn't) but use a email client.

My experience on these boards has been that someone from Verizon will eventually respond to our collective problem.

Same error here trying to login to my webmail.
I am in Northeast PA, up near NY border.
An awful storm blew through here yesterday afternoon - but it was working last night after the storm.

Hey-
I just noticed the time stamp of my post. What time zone are they using on this forum? I posted after 8:30 AM EST.
Wondered what folks were doing posting so early this morning.

There appears to be an email outage at this time. A notice posted elsewhere in the site says to retry in an hour. I live chatted a while ago and got a similar answer.

See my separate post - I am having the same problem on one of my sub-accounts. My main email account and another sub-account are working fine, at least on the web.
