Hijacked email acount

Someone has hijacked my email address and is sending spam to several people in my contact list. How can I stop this?
This is what the person is sending:

Change your password. Make sure you change it to something completely different then any password you have created and also make sure you apply this new password to places you have configured your email address to(outlook, outlook express, Mac mail etc...). If this does not fix the issue, then you may have something on your computer if you do use a email client(ex: outlook). Hope this helps

I agree with above and would add that you consider WPA2 encryption if you
don't already use it. VZ in-home agent can do this for you. Good luck!
