Sending SMTP email from a HP Scanner

I have an HP Laserjet M3027 MFP.

I am having problems setting it up to send emails of scanned documents.

I set it up previously with another provider and it was a no brainer.

Has anyone ever set one of these up on Fios?  Do I need to make any changes in the router?

I am trying smtp = smtp.verizon.net, port 465

I get an error back that the server doesn't exist

There is a place in the router set-up for smtp, but it was all blank
