I am using outlook 2002 to send email. The verizon support web site says to check ssl for the smtp server. When I try to send mail I get an error saying the smtp server does not support ssl. I uncheck ssl and it works. Does anyone have this problem? I think it is intermittent because it used to work and only stopped recently. I rebooted my computer and it didn't help However the outlook test message seems to work okay.
Thanks for any suggestions.

You are using smtp.verizon.net? it certainly does support SSl. Port must also be set to 465. Similarly the incoming is pop.verizon.net with SSL and port 995.
