I dialed Puerto Rico number 787-314-#### (I hid number) and received a voice message from Verizon that I would be charged international long distance.
I pay (in advance) $5.00 a month for global calling. Why am I receiving this voicemessage?
In previous post I read that Verizon responded that PR is considered international because “it does not have a country code”. This is totally false, Puerto Rico has the same code as USA. To dial a phone number in PR, you simply add a "1" to the area code and phone number. PR does not have a country code!!!

empire11411,
We want to make sure you know what to expect when calling. Calls from the US to Puerto Rico would normally be included in our mobile plans. What plan do you currently have? Where did you hear a message about a charge?
