Can I change the "My Verizon" data use widget size?

The "My Verizon" data use widget is sized 2x1 on my Pixel XL.  It's been 1x1 on my previous phones.  Will this be changed on the Pixel XL?  2x1 looks awkward and wastes space on my homescreen

You can change the size of it by holding a click on it and then drag the edge to desired size.
