DayDream View Rebate/Promo

So anyone else get a Email saying their device didn't qualify for the Promo when it should have?

I just got that so I called the Rebate Support Center and the guy reviewed my submission and said that I did qualify. So he resubmitted it for review and said I should know by Friday. Hopefully the 2nd time is the charm.

Not sure why the first attempt failed. I preordered the PixelXL on Oct 4th within a hour after the MadeByGoogle Event ended. It was so soon that the local Verizon didn't even have the cost inputted into their the system yet for me to pay the down payment, but they werre able to place the order and it did show up in My Account saying so on the 4th. Then I went in on the 6th and paid the $74 or so for the down payment or what ever they call it and also the activation fee. This way when I went back I didn't have to pay anything, just pick it up and activate it. Which I did on the 20th as mine came in on the 2oth of October.

Anyways I for certain qualified for the DayDream View Promotion. I just hope whoever reviews my Receipt and BarCodes this time around sees that I do. The copies of them are Clear and Legible and the Support Guy confirmed that everything looked good. So I'm crossing my fingers here. Smiley Happy

Anyways... Have any of you run into this issue with the DayDream View promo's for the Pixel phones? I am just curious.

This is fantastic. If This doesn't get resolved I suggest everyone submit your story to every tech blog they can think of.

The previous email said the colors were blue white and silver now its blue slate and silver ...

I'm also coming form a note 7 so this whole ordeal is wearing on me.

I am still waiting for an update on this. At least more than what I have received so far.    I have called them a few times for a update and I check my status every day multiple times a day. It's a bit depressing to say the least. They say it is qualified but that they are still processing it.

I will say that I have seen a few mention the color being a issue for them as their issues. I ordered the Really Blue PixelXL but I now know that it was the receipts I sent that is my issue. At least one of the times I talked with them they said that the date was listed as being outside the promotion period. They did not mention anything to me on the color of phone I had, just the date.

Anyways... The first time I called them they said to call back after so many days. Basically  around 5 to 7 days. So I checked back with them and they told me to check back in another 5 days. At this point I feel like I am getting the run around. Seriously how long does it take to validate a submission, especially when they reviewed the submission material while I was on the phone with them and they confirmed that I did qualify. They did that each time I called them yet it is taking forever to actually validate it in the system. At the very least they should change the status on the submission to resubmitted or processing instead of leaving it as invalid the whole time.

I have been a Verizon customer for many years now like over decade easy. Yet situations like these, which there has been a few, makes me second guess continuing to stay with them. I hope they resolve this soon.

Ugh... Got a postcard from Verizon today saying that my promo / rebate is involved. Basically ally the same thing my status says when checking it online. What really upsets me is that this Postcard was sent on the 3rd of November which was the last day I talked to them on the phone, where in the said again that I did qualify for the rebate. So the Verizon Support Staff is saying one thing and the people processing the Promo / Rebate are saying a different thing. I seriously think the Processing Staff is not reading the details of my receipt. I am at the point where I think k Verizon is giving me the Runaround.

Anyways I mentioned this on Twitter and the Verizon Customer Support there lok at it and told me they escalated my Submission and to check back in 5 days. Basically the same thing that the people on the phone said. So I do not have high expectations that they will get me any better results here.

This whole thing is ridiculous. My Verizon Account shows I preordered it. My receipt s are all confirming it. When I check the status of my my rebate online the automated system during the starting process says I qualify. The support staff online says I qualify. So why is it that the people that Process the final parts of the Promo / Rebate say I do not. It's stupid and upsetting.

Ugh

...anyway.

After another call I finally got someone who was willing to help, admitted to a fault in the validation system , escalated the situation to his supervisor  and said I should hear something In 15 days.  So be diligent and keep calling and emailing until you get a resolution.

I am in the same process now. I was denied because mine was 'Black'. I pulled up the Terms and Conditions and looked at the eligible devices. I ordered the 128GB Quite Black Pixel, listed below is:

Pixel Slate 128GB - 821793049171.

I checked my UPC on my box, and guess what? It is the exact same number.

Verizon doesn't even offer a Slate color on their website. Even the 'silver' is Very Silver and 'blue' is Really Blue.

I will continue escalating this until my claim is marked valid. From what I gathered there is a database error of some sort on their end. They seem to have put the incorrect color on the description in the T&C, denying everyone who has a color that is listed as the actual color. My call today is my second time being escalated, so I guess I'll wait 5 more days and then continue my efforts. After this I will proceed to fax, mail, and email proof that I meet these T&C.

Full T&C:

Limited time offer. Available to consumer customers who preorder a Google Pixel or Google Pixel XL during the dates of 10/4/16 through 10/19/16 and activate on a device payment plan from a Verizon Wireless retail store, online, telesales, Participating National Retailers, or from a Verizon Wireless Authorized Agent. Must submit proof of purchase online within 30 days of activation. Google Daydream VR will be sent to you by Verizon Wireless within approx. 3-6 weeks after receipt of claim. Limit one VR per qualifying device purchase. An $80 Visa Prepaid card will be provided to customer in the event the VR devices run out of stock. If you terminate service within 6 months of activation, we will charge your account $80 for the value received for the promotional VR device. Void in PR and where prohibited or restricted by law. Address must be within the fifty (50) United States or District of Columbia (DC). In the event a VR arrives damaged, call the Verizon Rebate Center at 844-408-8471 for assistance. Submit multiple claims separately.

I was told today while trying to get this worked out that my phone was part of a list that was set aside by google to be given to employees for free.

Has anyone else had this turn up?

I am being told mine is invalid, even though it's white. I'm told that they may have sent me a phone that was meant to be free for employees and I may have gotten one of those, (highly doubt this because I preordered and the representative told me I was the only one to have one in the store) so I have to go back to the store and get a whole new phone, and they still told me black doesn't count as well.

I went to the store where I picked up my phone today and they worked with me to get more information regarding why Verizon is denying my rebate.

They called in and the rep they spoke to on the phone indicated that there was a Product alert on the Pixel phones related to the Daydream rebate and that the representative I had communicated with earlier had probably not seen the alert. Supposedly, they are holding off on delivering any Daydream VRs to customers until the 10th when Google is going to release an update to make the Pixel phones compatible. They asked me to resubmit my rebate request on the 10th.

This sounds suspect to me.

I've already spent a significant portion of my time chasing this rebate. It should not require days of effort to redeem an $80 rebate.

Wrong info. I complained via twitter, and already got my headset. The information is just wrong, and I am not going to make any assumptions. In the end, just make sure that if you do qualify, you hold verizon to it. They will take care of you, but sometimes you need to complain before someone listens. 611 does not listen.

I second this. After hours on the phone and in webchat I tried facebook customer service. I've already got my order placed with absolutely no hassle.

I finally had my status changed today to Valid for my submission. Smiley Happy

I checked it this morning when I woke up and at the time it was still Invalid. Then later on around lunch time I checked it and it was Valid. So that made me very happy. Now it says that it is going through Final Processing and I should hear something within 30 days. Hopefully it will not take that long. It doesn't say much more than that, and I still have not received a Email from them on the change in status. At least it has change though. It makes me happy now as I am finally getting somewhere. It is just taking forever. I ordered my phone on the 4th before they even had pricing for it in the system. I submitted my rebate/promo on the 20th right after I picked it up. Within a week I got a reply saying it was invalid. Since then I made a bunch of phone calls to support and had multiple conversations online with support through twitter and email to get this far. All of this because of some confusion over the Date listed on the receipt.

Anyways... It has been a Long three weeks. I hope it doesn't take another three weeks to finish this next step in the process. Sadly though it does say that I should hear back in within 30 days. So I guess I'll have to pray and find out. LOL

Persistence does pay off.

After going back to the store and the store manager calling the Rebate Center on my behalf and waiting another five days, my status is now finally been changed to valid. I'll second that persistence does pay off!

I received my Daydream VR on Saturday 11/19/17.  I was pleasantly surprised with the visual clarity and ease of use compared to my Samsung VR.

I keep getting told that it's "easy, let me give you the details" and then, well it doesn't work. This was a preorder promotion, it needs to be honored.
