Google Pixel 6 PRO not receiving text messages, hotspot issues and Global Roaming Hotline message

So I have had some issues with my Pixel 6 Pro ever since I swapped SIM cards.  I had a Pixel 3XL and ordered a 6Pro from google.  when i got it in december i put my SIM in from my 3XL.  I didnt have any issues until i got a new 5G SIM from a verizon corporate store.  a few days after i started to not receive text messages.  the sent me to 2nd level tech and they reprovisioned i guess and all was well.  a couple days later....hotspot stopped working....an hour on the phone and reprovisioning...and all is well....later that day...not receiving texts.  On the phone for a couple hours with verizon and they get it working (but no old texts came in) and recommended i get a new SIM.  got a new SIM and no old texts came in.  while on the call with them, i noticed that when i dial *611 from my phone i get the "Welcome to the VW Global Roaming Hotline" message but on my wifes phone it is support.  I just dont know what to think.

Now i am just waiting for it to happen again since there is really no resolution.

Does anyone have any guidance?  I wish i had my old 4G SIM back.

They were able to resolve it for me, once I'd called them back again. The associate that helped me was more familiar with hearing about this issue. She had to do the reprovisioning as mentioned and then I had her try calling me and we realized I couldn't even receive calls at the time either. It turned out to be that somehow utilizing their ability to block a number blocked MY phone from the services completely instead of blocking just the number I had blocked. So I couldn't receive SMS or phone calls until they cleared that list. Then it started working again. Still not sure if it's 100%, but it seems to be working most of the time now. Still get random late texts.

I just started having the same issue where I couldn't receive SMS texts anymore, and I'm getting the same Global Roaming Hotline when I dial *611 as well. I was provided a 5G sim and have been using it since I received the phone about 3 weeks ago.

Thank you but tech support was able to resolve the issue for me for now. Hopefully it stays fixed.

  • Tech support was able to fix my issue, showing the same symptoms you're having. Apparently my phone somehow got itself associated in a block list, like I'd blocked a number using the Verizon app, but instead it blocked everything coming through SMS and even their phone call to me. Once they cleared the list that seems to have fixed the problem, so I'll just use the phone's software to handle number blocking from now on. Maybe this will help.

I have the Google Pixel 6 and randomly started having these issues 3 days ago. How long did it take for tech support to fix this for you? I have a ticket number and I'm waiting for them to figure it out.
