This is insane! I have had my Google Pixel for a couple of years now and love the phone, but since May, I have been having data usage problems. I am not a big gamer, streamer, texter, FB user, I only browse on Chrome a few times during the day. Although my usage habits remain consistent for the most part, around the 13th or 14th day of the month, my data usage spikes and uses up most of my data, and that is with data saver on. I have now been forced to buy a plan with more data becuse of this. What gives??
What does the on board data counter indicate is the data user?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Thanks for checking on that for us, Hwats. We offer several ways to monitor your data usage that we want to share with you https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/tools-for-monitoring-usage/.
Please check these settings for your Pixel https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-207669/
Do you normally use Chrome as your browser? Since you can see that as the main data source Chrome for Android can significantly reduce cellular data usage by using proxy servers hosted at Google to optimize website content. This feature has been shown to reduce the size of web pages by 60%. To enable it, visit Settings > Data Saver and toggle the option.
Let us know if that works for you.
