I am aware that Verizon is a business and their primary goal is to make a profit, but I am surprised by how uncaring and unhelpful Verizon employees really are.

I lost my phone November of 2019 while working and that same night I walked into a verizon store for help. I did not get insurance because I am usually good with keeping track of my phones and was told my only option was for an upgrade of a higher-priced phone. I also paid my bill while in-store and at no point did the employee seem interested in helping me find my phone. She was more concerned with getting me to buy a new one. I asked her to suspend my line, but little did I know that I would still be obligated to pay for my monthly phone plan. It was only today, after chatting with three different reps over the past two months, that I find out that Verizon can suspend a line for up to 90 days with only a 10 dollar fee. Meanwhile I am being charged 80 dollars for two months that I had no phone.

A week later I found out about 'find my phone', but by then it was too late. I am so disappointed and sincerely shocked by Verizon's concern for profits over customers. I plan to close my account and tell anyone I encounter how shady Verizon is.

The issue was expecting a store rep to care more than getting a commission. They're sales, they couldn't care less with customers if they don't get anything out of it. Sad, but this is how store reps are.

If you call in, it's a different story. About still being responsible for the loan, that's not Verizon exclusive. If someone pulled out a loan and lost their job, they'd still be responsible for it.

If you JUST found out about "find my phone" it was already too late the day you lost your phone. "Find my phone" requires you to activate the service on your phone BEFORE you lose it. If you had not already activated the service on your device before you lost it, it would have been no help for you regardless when you heard about this service.
