Why would a feature like wifi calling be affected? The wifi chip should be the same from phone to phone (Verizon or unlocked) and the sim card is the same. This shouldn't be something that Verizon limits.
I have experienced this issue with my unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro and my mother is about to purchase a Pixel 6 and I don't want her to have to deal with that.

It's important to know all the details about the phones you're interested in. The following link allows you to compare devices side by side, to see all the similarities and differences: http://spr.ly/6603Jgfdl -Jordan

Wi-Fi Calling is considered a carrier feature. It is where a carrier routes your calling through your Wi-Fi. As it is a carrier feature, this is why it is generally not included in most unbranded phones. *Gert

And how does that link allow us to compare a Verizon Pixel 6 vs an unlocked Pixel 6, which is the question being asked!

silver6055, we would not be able to say the difference since unlocked phones vs. a Verizon branded phones. Some features that are Verizon branded would not work on your unlocked phone. That would be the particulars that we have.

The $100 difference is in the 5G. The unlocked pixel uses Sub-6 networks but not millimeter-wave. The Verizon version uses both millimeter-wave and "Sub-6"

unlock bootloader. If you're techie, I'd really recommend buying the Google version. Google unlocked will be worth more long term.

The two versions use different 5G technology or bands. Read through this entire discussion thread to find the posts that detail the differences.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
