Can I install the Verizon Messaging app on an Android phone and have it use a different number than the Android phone. It never asks what number I want to use and it won't let me change it in the settings.

If it's the Verizon Message+ app, the number it is associated with is established when you install/setup the app. If you want to change the number, you will have to uninstall it and reinstall. Actually, I don't remember if it defaulted to my phone's number or gave me an option to enter. When I installed it on another device on my account (iPad), it prompted me to enter a number (for Integrated Messaging).
