What Assistant sounds are you referring to? The start sound or end sound (those are the audio confirmation sounds   OK Google  uses to let you know it heard you)?  All of this is managed in the Google Assistant app settings on your device. Verizon has no control over how Google Assistant works, Assistant is 100% a Google product. You would probably get more help on the Google Support Forum for your particular device. If you provide more details about which Assistant sounds you would like someone here can probably help get you into the correct place within Assistant Settings.

If you ask Google Assistant a question and it responds on screen but doesn't 'speak' the answer, is that what you're referring to? If so, I'm wondering if there's a glitch in the Google system today because mine is acting that way this morning if I had my phone on Do Not Disturb. Once the Do Not Disturb ended, it sometimes took 10-15 mins before Google Assistant would respond by 'speaking'.

I think they are asking about the start sound which beeps to let you know Assistant heard you. It works fine on Google Home devices like speakers, the on/off control is right there in the Home app settings for each device. But for a phone the on/off toggle was removed a while back.
