New phone - error messages with Verizon App

I just bought a Verizon Google Pixel 7 Pro and keep getting this message on the Verizon app - yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, changed passwords, been on phone for an hour. Help! This is ridiculous.
It looks like your device is not eligible for SMS and you do not have your email-id set up.
