Pixel 4a 5G UW Unlocking for use on Google Fi Carrier

The UW Verizon Version of the Pixel 4a 5G Phone is much less expensive on Ebay and Amazon than the others whether locked or unlocked.  The listings say  "Locked for Activation to Verizon only. Please see Verizon SIM Unlocking Policy for more details." Is the UW thing something unique to Verizon and will Verizon be able to Unlock it? My Carrier Google Fi can give me their SIM or ESIM. I just wanted to be sure I can use it before I buy one. Thank You!

If it's locked for activation on Verizon and you want to use Google Fi, don't buy it. Buy an Unlocked model. Yes, Verizon should be able to unlock it once they verify you do not owe any money to them for that phone. Key words = "should be". Do you really want that aggravation to save a few bucks?
