Temporarily transfer number to old phone

I have a Google pixel 4a. Unfortunately the screen recently broke, and I have to send it in for repairs. I still have my old Pixel 2, but it no longer has service. I'm wondering if there's a way for me to temporarily transfer my phone number from my pixel 4a to my old pixel 2, so I can use it while I wait for the repairs, then transfer my number back to the 4a when I get it back.

Before starting, turn off both phones. Remove the SIM card from the Pixel 4a and install it in the Pixel 2. Reboot the Pixel 2 and the service will activated on it.

Easy peasy.

8cAlfaMonza, we are sorry to hear about your screen! Good thing you are able to have it repaired. You are always able to activate an old device on your line in the meantime. Here is a great link to walk you through activating a device: https://www.verizon.com/support/activate-switch-or-bring-your-own-device-faqs/ (see #1)
