Abbishop46, happy to give you some details on text records and the best way to view them. You can retrieve up to 90-days of text message records (no content of messages), through My Verizon. I've laid out how you can view those records below with the steps for accessing them via a browser.
After youโve signed in, first click with your mouse at โAccountโ on top, then from the menu that appears, select โUsage.โ Youโll see an option for โUsage overview,โ select that there. A section called My Usage will open, and you can choose which line you want to view. Itโs important to know only as an Account Owner or Manager can you view other lines. And the information shared will not reveal content.
Once on the line you wish to view, youโll see a box with โTalk & Textโ with the current notes on mins and messages for the current cycle. There are two button options at the bottom of this box: Message details or Minutes details. Click โMessage details,โ and youโll see the following details; the number of messages used; a message log that features options for types of messaging (All, Domestic, International, Global). The log will show dates, times, To and From numbers, and if the message was received and type. Another note is that internet-based messaging systems like Facebook Messenger or iMessage will not display here, as those use your internet/data connection, and those app creators have control over those systems and records.
Hope that helps with details on text records and what can be view via My VZ.
