Tidbits is referencing the fact that Nextradio offers FM tuning as a means to listen to local radio without using data. This is a completely understandable desire, as audio streaming can consume data very quickly. Nextradio does, however, offer it as an alternative means of taking advantage of their app on devices that are not FM chip-enabled, as referenced in their FAQ page here: http://spr.ly/6584Dmh4Y
Next-radio also keeps a catalog to let users know which devices come with the FM chip enabled. You can see the list here: http://spr.ly/6585Dmh4l At this time, no Google devices appear on the list.
With that being said, Nextradio will indeed work on the device, but as a streaming service only and not with the FM (non-data) option. Does this provide clarity?
