Google Maps "update" replaced with MS. Bing

first off, the update screen is not optional.  When I clicked the update link, I was taken to a page that was foratted for a large screen and could not be zoomed in.  A trip to verizon got me the 'update'.

the update replaced google with bing.

no thanks.

solution:  go to the app catalog, search for maps and install BFGMaps.  It uses google, but has a small ad at the bottom of the screen that can be ransomed for 99 cents.

it is not microsoft, so it's OK, I suppose.

thanks verizon for hijacking my phone.

Verizon didn't hijack your phone, it was HP.  All webOS devices, Touchpads included, were switched to Bing maps not just the phones.
