Okay, so I just got off the phone with a VZW rep who said that the hotspot was free for the Pre 2.
Skeptical, I called back and talked to another rep (who didn't appear to know too much about cell phones), and he said it wasn't.
Can someone please give us a straight answer?
I went to my close by, though less friendly, Verizon store after seeing that Verizon was offering the Pre2 for free upon renewal of my plan. The were not very helpful with anything about the Pre2 and the phone was actually in a secluded part of the store and not even charged to allow me to look at it initially. When I asked about the Mobile Hot Spot, he stated quickly that it was no longer included and was still only available for the Pre+.
Seems to be a mix of messages, it would be nice to know what is true.
Thanks for taking the time to post back about this, katefields1. Good to have a definitive answer.
TimBoch, isn't it awful how some stores do that with the Pre? It's such a great OS, yet some people have never even tried it because it's not on display. When I went to look at a Pre last year, the store rep told me, "Oh that, that's a calendar phone." Huh? I knew enough about WebOS and bought from a Verizon store farther away, because they had the Palm devices on display and actually knew something about the platform.
