Palm Pre Plus power button

I have a Palm Pre Plus I got through Verizon last November.  The first thing I noticed was how hard the power button on the upper right hand side was to press to wake up the phone. 

My wife and mother-in-law have the same phone they purchased last June, and the power button on their phones is significantly easier to press.

It really is difficult to activate the phone with that button.  I have to hold the phone in both hands and bear down on the button.

Does anybody know if there was a change in manufacturing, or if this is a defect.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.

I've not read about this particular problem, but maybe there's something on PreCentral.net.

Can you live with it? The only problem with doing a warranty exchange is you might get stuck with a refurb with worse problems.
