Hello, I'm trying to reactivate my old Centro for my son and I was wondering if I have to get a data plan? I called *228 and it will not allow my to activate and online it prompts me to pick a data plan. I see from older posts that the Centro should be Grandfathered in. Has Verizon changed that?
You won't be able to activate without a data plan over the air or online, but you can call customer service to get it set up. This device should not require a data plan, but you may have to explain that to the rep.
