Volume on My Palm Pre Plus won't go up but will go down...

so a couple of months ago the volume button decide it didn't won't to go up but will go down... i still the 1yr warrenty on my phone and i went to a verizon store to see if they would replace it for me and the said since the phone was chipped at the top it was consider a phone defect... thats such bull even though it wasn't my fault that the phone chipped they still won't replace it for me. so im stuck with a phone with no volume for my music and only for the ringrtones...

 

I would love to know if anyone eles is have issuse with th volume button on there Palm Pre Plus?
