Does anyone know if webOS 2.0 will finally include voice commands? I really miss having that ability while I'm driving, and the fact that my 2-year old Motorola flip phone could do it tells me that it can't be that hard to implement. My hope is that Verizon is delaying the launch to add features like that.
Here is a link to information available about the Web OS 2.0. If the feature is not a part of the update, there are applications that can be downloaded to compensate.
I just had to reboot my entire system the other night and while on the phone with Palm support I inquired as to when OS 2.0 would be available to Verizon for release since every time I've been to a Verizon store they indicate the release was still in Palm/HP's hands. The support person (who was very helpful with my problems) indicated that an open version had been made available to providers and that now the timing of a release is in their hands.
The sooner, the better. I'm a little frustrated with continually seeing the vague "available in the coming months" comment; particularly after being told in May 2010 when I got the Pre Plus that Flash would be available by mid-year. I guess it was my bad to not specifically ask what year.
So basically Verizon has been lying to us from day one regarding the release of OS 2.0 and now it looks like HP Palm is releasing an OS 3 version with a new handset in the near future. Hopefully in the future Verizon and its sales people will stick only to current attributes of any item they're selling; talking potential upgrades or future enhancements at the time of trying to sell a device is truly crappy since they obviously don't deliver.
