Calendar sync with gmail not complete

My thunderbolt calendar syncs with my gmail calendar but only for the previous 30 days.  When I manually sync it it seems to get hung up and the little rotating green circle just stops turning.  I want to import events that are in my gmail calendar on my computer for the previous 6 months onto the phone.

Any suggestions?

We have confirmed with HTC that there is no setting on the device to expand the length of time used to sync past events. We can only recommend that you search on the Android Market for a possible third party application that may allow this function.

I can go back to April 2009 on my Tbolt. I usually change the view to agenda view and at the top of the view "tap" to view events prior to the current date range. All events were saved in the Google calendar.
