Are you using the app LTE on/off to switch to LTE only?

I don't believe anyone is sitting on the side, I think they are just trying to catch up with the 12 pages of responses and have a couple people explain it to them in summary. I have submitted an email to HTC regarding this specific 'faint ringing sound' issue and hope to hear from them soon. I do agree that we should get as many people as possible to email them so that they can provide us with sufficient information on how to handle this problem, or develop something that fixes it in the next Android update. We shall see...

ah ok, switching to lte in the mobile settings won't disable your 3G. The band is called EvDo, you can see it using the LTE on/off app. Your phone is actually in CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto or CDMA+LTE/EvDo auto. Using the app you can actually force it to use only one of those bands.

Well I am just going to leave it alone since I have not had the issue
anymore. My brother had the same issue and once he changed Sims cards it
stopped for him also. He is running his in lte always. We get great 4g in
almost all of NC on Verizon. Never have issue getting it anywhere.

Add me to the list.... I've had the phone about 2 weeks and had the faint ringing 3 or 4 times. Every time when I had a weak or non existant signal.
Hate that there doesn't seem to be any resolution (other that possibly a new SIM card). My work is in a fringe reception area and I can't have the ringing going off randomly like it does now.
I have notified HTC of the issue and am now off to report it to Verizon

This seems to be a bad batch of the that phone. Me and 2 friends all got the HTC ONE in metallic blue from best buy and have not had any single issue so far. It stinks that such a good phone is getting a bad rep because of that issue. Try and push to get a brand new one if you send it back,, not a refurbished one.

It is absolutely ridiculous that Verizon is months behind the other carriers when releasing the phone and then turns out something defective all the while charging the customer hundreds for the phone and service! Fix the problem Verizon!! CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

This is sooooooo true...with the stall on delivering the HTC One it should be flawless yet there are issues.
With all the time wasted we assumed that Verizon was testing everything out to make sure it worked and had no issues.
So what's up with that... Verizon.
(no other carriers seem to have issues with the One).

I am having the same problem. Second time, instead of rebooting the phone, Changed prefeered Network to GSM/UMTS (no idea what the different options do and I don't care as long as the phone/data work properly), and then back to Global. Faint ringing stopped. So, I'm not sure why or if this is the right solution or not, but seems to work.
