Will the verizon HTC Rezound provide GPS without a cellular plan?
(The initial maps and data would be downloaded via wifi.)
This worked with the Motorola Atrix HD (downloading map data via wifi, then using GPS later with no wifi or cellular connection), so I know it is possible. It worked with Google Maps, Sygic navigation, and a hiking navigation app I forget the name of.
Question is... can the Rezound do this?
Thanks!

It should. My Tbolt will work like that in airplane mode and access to wifi.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

"Backcountry Navigator".. the name of the hiking nav app.
Hi,
I know some phones will do it.. I'm wanting to hear from someone who has a Rezound and has gotten GPS apps to work with no cell plan.
There is a-gps and s-gps, I don't understand it all, so just wanting to know for sure for the Rezound.
