HTC ONE M8 EXPERIENCE: TOTAL JUNK! Anyone Else?

I've had this phone for about 4 months and it is maddening to use!

1)The mic quit working in speakerphone mode; HTC will replace it but the refurbished phone only has a 90 day warranty essentially eliminating 5 months of warranty coverage

2)MMS/SMS is completely unreliable; ill restart the phone and have people get texts that never went through; it takes an extended amount of time to send and receive texts - especially in group conversations

3)SLOW; I paid top dollar when this came out and it is dreadfully slow; It is supposed to be top of the line power but i literally wait 4-5 seconds when switching screens. unacceptable to me.

What's everyone experience on replacing phones? I would like to totally void my life of HTC and move over to the S5.  I don't want to leave Verizon but if they aren't willing to help I may have to.
