Good morning, hooden09! I admire your interest in getting the latest updates. I regret that I have no information on a pending changes to that operating system. We will normally announce updates or new releases on our News site. The link to that site is here: http://bit.ly/n5snpq

@DionM

Well, the interesting thing is HTC already outted you guys.  There software update website says the Kit Later update is currently at the Carrier Nitpicking and Bloatware Installation phase (a.k.a Certification).

So when you say you have no information about the update pardon me while I ROFL.

If HTC says you guys have it, then someone at Verizon should be able to tell us what the hold up is.

The sad part, is that not only is Sprint sending their update out into the wild before Verizon, but it went from "integration" (basic software mating to hardware) but through the "certification" (installation of bloat) phase. Verizon, that is just plain pathetic.

If interested I'm thinking real hard to get a petition going that will change the laws on bloatware. All carriers give false advertising of specs on there phone they offer. it may be true without the bloatware when your not able to have the option to uninstall them. Please read this article and see if we can't get a petition going. My way is to have the Phone manufacturer up date there own phones.

Carrier and manufacturer bloatware has long been a bane for Android users, often serving no purpose other than taking up valuable storage space and irritating you with their presence when you’re surfing through your app drawer. But for smartphone users in South Korea, bloatware will cease to be an issue very soon, as the country’s government has ruled that users must be offered an option to delete any preinstalled app from their device.

Korea’s Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MISP) is putting its foot down, ruling that apart from functionality related to Wi-Fi connectivity, near-field communication (NFC), customer service and the app store, everything must be uninstallable. To take an example, this will give a user of SK Telecom’s Galaxy S4 the option to remove almost 25 preloaded apps. The ruling – which will come into effect in April – aims to “rectify an abnormal practice that causes inconvenience to smartphone users and causes unfair competition among industry players,” enabling them to get better battery life and reclaim some storage space.

The rule might extend to apps loaded on to the device by the manufacturer and even Google, which could be a cause for worry for companies like Samsung and LG, who differentiate their devices through a plethora of add-on apps and features that often cannot be disabled (unless you have root access.) At the moment, however, it’s just carrier bloatware that’s been dealt a blow, though it’s still a huge step towards solving one of the long-standing and most grating issues on Android.

Any bets on when the US will follow in the South Korean government’s footsteps?

This needs to be posted on sights like www.androidcentral.com. I know they will just love all this. Carrier "bloat" is the bane of everyone's existence. Shame on the carriers for adding tons of crap apps that we will never use. I can see the need for a basic app such as the My Verizon app. That should be about the only app that should be pre-installed. The rest should be our option. Doing that should speed up certification, and the roll out to us, the consumers. (who are getting aggravated that our carrier is being so slow with it.

PS: Kudos to @Weld188 for starting the petition. Lets hope it can actually do some good. (such as getting a law in place that wont screw us in the long run)

The update was rolling out as of Monday 4/7/2014. It is a staged release so not everyone will get it at once.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
