HTC One (M7) Won't update to newest software

It currently has Android version 4.3 installed on it with HTC sense version 5.0 When I go to software update and click on 'check new' it starts to scan for new software, then the message goes away and nothing happens. I called Verizon Wireless tech help and we tried various different things, including a factory reset and it still won't recognize or download the new Android software. Tech help basically told me they didn't know what else to do and someone would call me back, and in the meantime to contact HTC. Nobody called me back from Verizon, not a big surprise, it's been months. I contacted HTC and they said they have no further steps for me to take if I've done a factory reset and it is still not updating, they then referred me back to Verizon. So, now I have a phone which won't update to the newest software, has WiFi issues, and is laggy and very slow, all this and I've had the phone for under a year. Completely frustrated and dissatisfied with the phone, and customer support I've received from both Verizon and HTC. Can ANYBODY help?

TheDemonSin,

I know it's important to keep your phone's software up to date. I'm sorry to see you're having these problems. I researched this problem and don't see a known issue reported by HTC. However, I see there has been 2 sotware updates prior to the newest since 4.3 was released. If you declined those updates, for whatever reason, the phone will not update. This is the only reason you wouldn't be able to update it. In that case, only the manufacturer may be able to assist you. You can also try the software update assistant http://bit.ly/10rvPqp.

I never received ANY notifications that I declined. I've done factory resets on the phone and it still will not update. The software update assistant will not update it either. I contacted HTC and they referred me back to Verizon as they did not know what else to do. There is obviously something wrong with the phone and neither HTC or Verizon is willing to help, they both keep referring me back to one another!

Try clearing some of your Caches, your System Cache, your Browser Cache clear your Contacts if you have allot in doing this clears up some space.. which might help the phone take the update also make sure you have a Full charged Battery and a Good Signal..

TheDemonSin,

Thank you for contacting the manufacturer. Since your phone is still on 4.3, you received the prompts back in December 2013. Only the developer may be able to push the update, as we don't develop the software. If you're still within manufacturer's warranty, 1 year from purchase date, please follow and send me a Direct Message.
