HTC Rezound fast battery drain

I've had my new Rezound for a few days and am astonished at how fast the battery drains.

I have the Rezound as well. You can limit the battery drain by turning off 4G when you don't need it, and keep the screen off for as long as possible. You should just stick with a battery saving app like JuiceDefender as well. Verizon and/or HTC (I forget who does) sells an extended battery also, which will get you like 30 hours of standby time. To me though, battery life is definitely less important than the amazing speeds of 4G that I get (around 25 MB/s where I live) plus the really good hardware that this phone has too.

From the home screen, go into the settings, select the "Power" settings, tap the "Power Mode" setting, and select/tap "Normal" when the dialog box comes up.  I have found that Normal power mode is just as fast as the High Performance mode that is default on new Rezounds.

I think Normal mode shuts off the WiFi if you are not using it for a while, and you may see a screen about that for a few seconds when you wake the phone up.  That is the only difference, aside from greatly extended battery life, that I have found.  The phone is still just as fast/snappy.

If you want really big power savings, you can select the Economy mode.  But I hear that it slows the phone down a bit.  It gives a huge increase in battery life, though.

I was having the battery deplete at the rate of about 10 percent per hour when in standby. I purchased the extended battery and while this solved the issue, it is just too big and I do not like it. So I did some research on tweaking things and found that if I just keep 4g, bluetooth, and gps turned off until I need them the battery will deplete now about 1 percent every 3.5 hours. HUGE difference!

Not sure if this is your situation. On mine I use Exchange Active Sync for my work email and on a few occasions I've noticed the sync icon flashing the top for a few hours and it really drains my battery quickly. Also if you have your WiFi turned on it will drain it also, as the post above says try one of the power settings
