I hope you meant the early gingerbread update of 2.11.605.3. Try this to see if it will work for you:
If you use Backup Assistant, start the prgram and selct the Sync now button
If you get a result of Suceeded on the Most recent update then go to the Software update screen and press check new.
This worked for me, I hope it will work for you.

I hope someone can help me. I received the update Sunday night and so far there is only one issue I have found while may not be as complex as others...I can no longer find my clock where I can set an an alarm.
The previous alarm I had set is still on and goes off everyday and there is no way to turn it off. I can immediately dismiss it but can't get to where you actually set a new one or turn it off all together. I have gone through everything with no luck.
I am hoping it's something super simple and I just missed it. I can't believe this is my biggest problem with the update. Please help me.

I was having the same issue and it was driving me crazy.
After investigating, here's what I found:
Battery management software was killing my connection when the screen turns off (I normally have the app aggressively managing power, since this phone tends to eat through battery life).
Disabling (force stop, in this case) the app stopped the manager from switching off the radio when the phone wasn't being used.
GB is currently installing.

For what it's worth, I am a 65 year-old Thunderbolt user and I am still baffled by these silly names like Ginbread and Ice Cream Sandwich and what they mean. Same goes for all the acronyms that you people use. Is there someplace I could go to find out what they all mean? I would be forever in your debt. Thank you.
