How can I get my phone to update?

My phone was stolen and I received a replacement phone from Asurion. The new phone was not updated at all. It had android market instead of google play and is running on 

I had to force install google play from a QR code online. Everytime I check for an update it says checking for updates and then immediately closes.

I'm sorry you have to go through all of this because your phone was stolen, haileycohran. You should contact Asurion again so they can replace the device since it isn't updating. 888-881-2622
